The US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents use the Campbell/Harris Security Equipment Company Buster K910B Density Meter, along with other contraband detection tools, in their day-to-day operations against the influx of narcotics around the country. On March 26, CBP agents at the El Paso Port seized almost 13 pounds of cocaine. Street value estimate for the drugs is over $406,000.

CBP El Paso Port director Beverly Good said of the bust, “Stopping almost 13 pounds of cocaine is a significant enforcement action.”

Each day, the CBP agents do enforcement sweeps of several vehicles that want to come into the US at various locations around the country. During the sweeps, the agents will have a variety of detection tools available for them to use. These agents have K-9 units which often provide the first indication that hidden contraband may be there. However, the agent visually noticed some anomaly in the interior part of the vehicle. But because he was using CSECO’s Buster, he scanned the area he noticed. He received a very high reading which often is an indication that hidden contraband was located.

A drug-sniffing dog named Bert then sniffed the vehicle. He also alerted to the officers that there was something in the vehicle’s rear seat. The agents followed these two indications by using X-ray screening. This indicated the anomaly in the seat. The agents and the CBP officers went to further examine the Dodge Neon. Finally, they located five packages hidden inside the rear seat. Each package was filled with cocaine.

The CBP agents arrested the driver, a Canutillo, Texas resident. The driver was then turned over to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigation agents. The driver will face charges of attempted smuggling.

CSECO understands how vital it is to eradicate illegal drugs, narcotics, and other contraband and to keep them off the streets. CBP agents, law enforcement officers, and interdiction officers across the country have a significant task. They need effective, accurate, easy-to-use, and safe detection tools. These tools will help them locate and keep illegal drugs, narcotics, cash, weapons, and explosives from reaching their intended recipient.

CSECO’s has manufactured the Buster K910B since 1984. Law enforcement officers around the country widely think of the Buster as the “gold standard” for detecting and locating contraband. The Buster, when used together with the K-9 units and other equipment for detecting narcotics and contraband, increases the possibility they will locate and seize contraband. When the illegal drugs and other contraband are seized and off the streets, our cities and towns are safer for us to live in.

Have you heard about the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope Inspection System? Fiberscopes have been classically used by law enforcement and drug interdiction agents for detecting fuel tanks and hard-to-reach places for contraband that range from narcotics to cash and explosives. Campbell Harris Security Equipment Company (CSECO) offers an amazing alternative to fiberscopes – the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope Inspection System.

The Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope has some features that the fiberscope has – such as long, thin (2m x 6mm) flexible tungsten armored shaft, 2-way articulation (meaning it is multi-directional), powerful built-in LED lighting, and a rechargeable battery (lasting up to six hours).

Another distinction for CSECO’s Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope is that it is the first and only videoscope to be certified safe by Underwriters Laboratory (UL). It means that it is safe for inspecting in hazardous places such as vehicle fuel tanks, as well as hard-to-reach places. The Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope is waterproof and is resistant to fuels such as gasoline, diesel, and oil.

For these amazing features, the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope is deemed useful by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents for their routine inspections of vehicles and containers that enter the United States, as well as for contraband being transported into and around the country.

The Underwriters Laboratory is a US-based worldwide safety organization founded in 1894. It originally started in business by certifying electrical components safety and new technologies. The company does rigorous testing prior to allowing their stamp of approval on any product. When a product has finally been certified by the UL, it means that it’s safe to use.

The videoscope’s probe measures only 6mm, so it can be inserted into a surprising variety of very narrow spaces that were previously inaccessible. Those spaces include inside vehicle doors, between walls, and behind car dashboards. The videoscope can digitally capture photos or videos which can be used by law enforcement in legal cases and in courtrooms. The videoscope captures and stores up 6 hours of video and 8,000 photos on a single SD card.

The Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope’s LED light assists makes dark places visible and has adjustable intensity. It is also equipped with digital zoom which allows the user to see items that may be hard to see or are obscure to assess accurately. The videoscope’s controls include push-buttons and a menu which shows on the screen. Its rechargeable battery will be fully charged from completely empty to full in around two hours. The unit also comes with a rechargeable battery just in case the user needs it.

The videoscope’s other components also include a neck strap, sun shield, and an additional 8GB SD card which is used for photo and video storage.

Perhaps your law enforcement agency uses the old fiberscope or an older videoscope. You might want to check out the CSECO Fiberscope Trade-In Program. This program ensures your agents can use today’s newest, most high-tech videoscope on the market which has been proven 100% safe for use, the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope from CSECO.
