Contraband detectors such as a density meter and a visual inspection tool will definitely help law enforcement agents locate and seize hidden contraband.

One of the most trusted names in the contraband detection field is Campbell/Harris Security Equipment Company (CSECO) which has been in the business for over three decades. Their first product, the Buster K910B Density Meter, was a product of collaboration of the company’s founder Patrick J. Campbell and agents from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Also known as “Buster” for short, the Buster K910B has served well the majority of law enforcement and anti-illegal drugs agencies across the United States for many years. Now, CSECO has upgraded the K910B to the newest version, the Buster K910G Density Meter!

Like its predecessor, the Buster K910G still uses the low intensity gamma radiation and a scintillation detector. This helps the user to scan through a variety of materials: wood, paper or carton, metal, concrete, or reinforced plastic and even organic matter such as dirt, water, and many other kinds of liquids.

Law enforcement agents who use the Buster K910B will still be able to use the K910G for scanning through these kinds of matter without externally damaging or dismantling the items being scanned. Once the Buster recognizes a density level that is unusually high, it’s the right time for the agents to damage them in order to seize previously hidden contraband such as illegal drugs, narcotics, cash, alcohol and spirits, weapons, explosives, or other contraband.

The Buster’s low intensity gamma technology enables quick scanning. Like the K910B, the K910G has the ability to scan an entire average-sized room within 10 minutes or less, and a vehicle within 5 minutes or less.

The K910G also has the RAD-Aware® technology which enables first respondents to detect unusually high levels of radiation. This will help them to establish safety perimeters while keeping their colleagues as well as innocent civilians of the dangerous dirty bomb or any other radiation leaks.

The Buster K910G features significant improvements from the previous the K910B. The K910G has a more ergonomic design — it has been made slimmer (also designed for female inspectors or for those with smaller hands) and added with a strap to ensure of a more secure grip. The K910G also has a 7.5 micro curie Barium 133 source, which is at least 25% or more less than our competitors’ density meters. It is also now devoid of potentially-dangerous lead components inside it, making searches much safer than ever before.

The Buster will work best as it is meant to work that way — scanning mostly external surfaces, such as that of a gas tank. However, it doesn’t have the ability to probe into narrower spaces, nor can it be poked into other items such as a sack of grain. That’s why CSECO introduced another great contraband detection tool, the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope Inspection System. It is a visual inspection tool which can beat the leading fiberscopes currently on the market.

The Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope can be used with complete ease, as it comes in one piece — no need for bothersome attachments such as cables. It works in the same manner as the other fiberscopes. But the Perfect Vision is very different due to its impressive features and functions.

The Perfect Vision V20 boasts a 5-inch color LCD display. It also has push-button dimming and digital zoom which enables the user to see the inspected area ten times to that of the leading fiberscope. This will help the user to focus on what is being inspected without losing visual awareness of his surroundings.

This amazing tool doesn’t have glass fibers, unlike the leading fiberscopes which means it is not easily susceptible to external damage. The Perfect Vision has a 2mmx6mm tungsten-protected shaft equipped with two-way articulation and potent LED lighting. The shaft can be poked or inserted into areas normally inaccessible to the Buster. The Buster recognizes any indication of concealed contraband while scanning a particular surface and the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope will further confirm what it is beneath that surface. The Perfect Vision is also built to be used during the evening or in dark locations.

The Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope Inspection System is also certified safe by the Underwriters Laboratory (UL). Now agents will be confident when they have to use the Perfect Vision in high-risk areas like fuel tanks. Not many visual inspection tools can hold that kind of recognition like the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope does! It was the first visual inspection tool to hold such recognition.

Although already excellent individually, the Buster K910G Density Meter and the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope, when used together, can double the chances of success of locating hidden contraband.
