The Buster K910G Density Meter is the latest update of the Buster K910B, the original product created by Campbell/Harris Security Equipment Company (CSECO). The company’s founder and owner Patrick J. Campbell designed and developed the Buster K910B with input from a number of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents.

Since the Buster K910B emerged on the market and became popular, rival companies started to come up with their own density meters. However, not all density meters on the market today were created equal. Some of these gadgets employ different technologies like millimeter wave, ultraviolet wave, radio wave, or microwave into their own contraband detecting tools.

Contraband detecting gadgets that use such technology have limited scanning capabilities, and may detect only a few types of hidden contraband. The Buster K910G, on the other hand, can scan through different types of materials including metal, wood, reinforced plastic, carton, stone, brick and even organic material like soil and liquids. The Buster’s sophisticated technology has been proven for many years in detecting and locating several types of contraband such as narcotics, many types of drugs, alcohol, weapons and explosives.

The Buster’s superior capabilities will eliminate the need to tear down the material being scanned. Unlike rival density meters which do slow scanning, the Buster scans quite quickly — it can scan the whole average-sized vehicle within five minutes and an average-sized room within 10 minutes.

The Buster K910G density meter is relatively lightweight and is now easier to grip with its fully ergonomic design, a big improvement from the K910B. Other contraband detectors in the market are too heavy (some weigh as much as three pounds!). The Buster K910G is still as accurate as ever in picking up the correct level of density; once it detects an unusual amount of density, it is likely that contraband is hidden behind the surface being scanned. That very accuracy is something that rival density meters never have.

Competing density meters do not have the ability to reach less accessible areas like the underside of a vehicle. The Buster can scan these areas, thanks to the newest accessory Buster-on-a-Stick, and an extension stick which attaches to the Buster.

Other density meters may detect hidden contraband, but do they also detect dangerous radiation leaks? The Buster K910G has the RAD-Aware technology, which enables it to locate abnormal quantities of radiation. Once the Buster has positively located radiation, this will help the first responders to establish zones to keep other officers and other civilians to safety in the event of a dirty-bomb detonation.
